Liver Transplantation
Liver transplantation is an operation that is done when a person’s liver is no longer functioning to the point where it is life threatening. The liver is surgically removed and replaced with either a whole liver or part of a liver from another person. The person who has received the liver will need to take medication to prevent their body from rejecting the new liver.
